Students from Years 10 and 11 and Lower 6 have had a unique opportunity to experience the Edinburgh Fringe as performers as well as sample all the atmosphere that the world’s largest arts festival offers in August! Taking their original play ‘Shadows, Mirrors, Echoes’ exploring how social media defines our reality, the play reimagines the story of Narcissus and Echo for the social media age. Weaving in Plato's allegory of the cave, we ask questions of the nature of the reality we glimpse through the screens of our phones.
Alongside performing their work, the students have experienced a taste of University life, staying in the University’s Halls of Residence. They have also had the opportunity to see a wide range of thought provoking shows as well as enjoying all the tourist-y treats that Edinburgh has to offer.
