Last week, we were lucky enough to welcome back Old Badmintonian Carole Bent (Class of 1980) for December’s ‘Inspiring Evening’s lecture. Carole has most recently dedicated herself to growing STEM to STEAM, a pioneering cross-sector initiative promoting arts education, creativity and free-thinking - highlighting the value of creativity in its widest sense - from mental wellbeing to competitive advantage.
This initiative was explained via an entertaining, interactive presentation with Carole being ably assisted by members of the Outreach Team. The audience came away with a real sense of the importance of the arts and creativity in a science education.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Carole and all our other Inspiring Evenings presenters for sharing their experiences and highlighting many important and relevant issues.
The lecture series continues in January with another topical talk. Old Badmintonian, Tracey Logan will talk about her experiences in anti-plastics campaigning and how one person can change the world.
