The Duchess of Cambridge has recently spoken of her ambition to put early years on an equal footing with the other great social challenges and opportunities of our time when she disclosed the findings of the biggest ever UK study on the early years.

The Royal Foundation commissioned Ipsos MORI to conduct this landmark research, revealing what the UK thinks about the early years. While 98% believe that nurture is essential to lifelong outcomes, only 24% think pregnancy to age five is the most pivotal period for health and happiness in adulthood.

The Duchess was keen to emphasise the importance of early childhood in shaping the rest of our lives and highlighted how a good start in life can make all the difference.

At Badminton Junior School we have always believed in the importance of strong foundations. Our youngest Form is known as the Little Acorns – they will grow up to be wise old oak trees!

The Head of EYFS at Badminton Junior School, Rachel Jones, said:

“Our task within our Early Years at Badminton is to help our youngest children get excited about learning and achieving. We aim to provide the very best foundation where our children can discover, challenge themselves and develop an enquiring mind through laughter and having fun.  Our oak tree logo from Little Acorns tall oak trees grow, inspires us as staff to provide deep rooted support to our children’s future learning.”
