Senior School Art

Nine pupils from Badminton Senior School entered the annual Rotary Youth Photography Competition. This year’s set theme was ‘Wild Nature’. Each participant was required to submit three photographs that they had taken specifically in response to this theme.

Well done to Florence (Year 7), Evie (Year 9), Zobia (Year 9), Georgina (Year 9), Violeta (Year 9), Georgina (Year 11), Alison (Lower Sixth), Tina (Lower Sixth) and Yvonne (Upper Sixth) for entering the competition.

Each submitted very creative and interesting responses to the theme. All entries from across Bristol were judged by experienced photographers that included members of The Royal Photographic Society. Badminton School is delighted to have two pupils gain awards from the judges!

Congratulations to Georgina for gaining the Runner Up prize for the intermediate age category and to Tina who won the senior age category!

Tina’s submission will be taken forward to the next stage of the competition, her images wowed the judges who commented;

We were bowled over by the quality of Tina’s work. The dark backgrounds to all of the images add to their impact. The main subject of each image is beautifully in focus. The cropping has been done well to position the subjects in the frame. The lions connect with the photographer while the lizard and the tortoise disdain to notice. Tina is a truly worthy winner of the senior group.
