Welcome to Badminton School Prep.
Badminton provides the right balance between nurturing, intellectual growth and exploration. This leads to a daughter who is confident and believes she can achieve anything she puts her mind to.
Badminton School Prep welcomes day girls from Pre-Reception to Year 6, and boarders from Year 4. The school has been led by Mrs Heidi Welch since 2021.
The Prep School is housed in its own purpose-built school, on the wider campus of Badminton School. EYFS benefit from their own secure playground with lots of toys. Pupils have access to the ‘Rough Patch’, a grassy area with lots of playground equipment, including a slide, obstacle course and monkey bars.
The Prep School is part of the wider Badminton community, setting pupils up for transition into Year 7. From Year 4 girls eat in the main dining room, and from Pre-Reception use the main school facilities such as the performance space (PMH), swimming pool, sports centre and specialised music classrooms.
From Pre-Reception to Year 2, girls are taught in year groups and have one main class teacher. From Year 3, girls are taught by specialist subject teachers, and in Years 4 – 6 they have vertical forms. We are proud of our four-house system, giving the girls the chance to regularly engage with pupils throughout the Prep School.
Wrap around care is available from 8am until 5.45pm, so you can ensure your daughter will be well looked after. Breakfast club is available from 7.30am at an additional charge.
Our Prep School rabbit, Barnabus, and Dave the dog, allow pupils to learn responsibility by looking after them. Dave is a popular companion in lessons and co-curricular activities and loves lots of walks!

Led by our brilliant Early Years Staff there will be art and crafts activities for your daughter to get involved in, as well as lots of toys and learning resources for her to explore and play with. The sessions are informal and a great opportunity to get to know the Prep School and to ask questions about the start of your daughter’s educational journey.
