Music Whole School

On Wednesday 8th February, the Music Department showcased pupils across the School for the annual Spring Concert at the iconic St George's music venue in Bristol.

All musicians in the Orchestra, the singers in the Choirs and soloists wowed the audience of parents, governors, staff, VIP guests and pupils, and treated them to a fantastic evening of the highest quality of musical performances.

Eleanor in Year 10 describes the evening:

"The St George’s Concert has always been the biggest concert of the school, and this year, in my opinion, it was also one of the best ones yet.

I was in the Orchestra as a percussionist playing the timpani, and we performed a huge variety of pieces from Beethoven, Elgar, and many more. I was also in the Senior Choir, and we performed some well-known songs, like ‘Speechless’ and 'With A Little Help From My Friends’.

All the performances went really well and every one of the performers was amazing. The most memorable part, however, was the massive applause and cheers coming from the audience after we finished a performance. Looking around at the appreciative smiles towards us filled me with immense delight (and even nearly moved me to tears!). It was such an incredible experience performing in the St George’s Concert this year, and I would like to sincerely thank the music teachers for all their help, and the parents and students for their support and appreciation towards us.

I am so honoured to be a part of our musical family here at Badminton!"
