In Drama, the Year 8s performed short plays based on a famous fairy tale to which they added their own modern-day twist.

Mr Chilcott said, “The Year 8s have been absolutely amazing at adapting fairytales and adding morales and working collaboratively with each other to perform today.”

The group who performed a twist on ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ (Amelia, Rebecca, Eve, Molly) said “We practiced in the garden and lessons, it was really fun to work together and to try to update ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ whilst promoting child safety which is such a major issue at the moment.”

Aliza, Isra, Lucy, Lexie and Izzy took on ‘The Three Little Pigs’ said “It was very fun to perform and we felt very comfortable, it was enjoyable as our Year Group has a good sense of humour. We picked a story and made it modern to relate to us now by using COVID-19.”

A group mentioned that they found “Cinderella was a good story to adapt because it had a great storyline to include the impacts of social media and cyber bullying. We chose these topics because it is a very prominent thing now especially during lockdown when everyone was behind a screen.”
